The Last Sun 06:16
My tears fall as warming rays To nourish the ground. My brothers' blood spill and stain The world all around… me. It was all for a little fun, A little harmless fun, But the toll it was too great And alone I will bear. The one they call a hero, His hands stained with blood, The killer who saved their souls, Through the deaths of my kin. It was all for a little fun, A little harmless fun, But the toll it was too great And alone I will bear. The first lone sunrise came with summer rains The arrows fly above, but they should've taken me instead I alone must face this task To be the last sun, The last shining light on my own

The Savior 09:08
Wary sleepers ungrateful they're of me To their savior they refuse a jar of mead The suns are gone but one, all fallen by my hand. The crops they bloom and grow, but idle hands won't till the land Won't somebody help us. Ungrateful they remain. Won't somebody save us. Ungrateful they remain. All I ask of them, all I ask is one small task For life and limb they owe me, by my hand they are alive. See my side, my moon, my love, don't ever take their side. Obey your rightful king, it is all I’ll ever ask. Won't somebody save us. Ungrateful they remain. Won't somebody help us. Ungrateful they remain. They can’t be trusted She left me stranded.

The Moon 13:50
And she flew away when I lost myself, My cruelty and no one else to blame, Eternity is a long time to spend alone, With only the distant moonlight as warmth. As I feel her heart drift away from me, Her moonlight fading by the sea. The last sun reminds me of what I've done, Eternity forever lost to me.

about

Kill The Last Sun is a concept EP based off the myth of Houyi and Chang’er. Written primarily on baritone guitar, ebow, and hulusi, the three movements capture moments of regret, paranoia, and grief that is central to this interpretation of the popular Chinese parable.
